Bato Springs resort is a perfect venue to unwind with nature, a place that has been spared by modernization, a natural home ground for butterflies, dragonflies and birds. It is one of those places in the South of Manila where you can bring your friends over and relish the natural beauty of Laguna. It is on the border of Laguna and Quezon, on the foot of Mount Banahaw, about 2-hour drive from Manila and 15 minutes away from San Pablo City proper.
EDIT: We were able to go back this place, and we wrote our tips for Bato Springs Resort.
![]() | ![]() |
Its main feature is its clear and sparkling river directly coming from Mount Banahaw, plus the trees which will make it very difficult to tell which time of the day it already is. The resort features two man made falls which are channeled into a large swimming pool and streams around it. The main pool is about 4 feet deep and has a groto/cave hidden with a stream of falling water, water flows from this to a second pool which is about 2 feet deep. This pool has two water falls around it where you can sit and have your back massaged by the flowing water.
![]() | ![]() |
The resort offers rooms good for up to 8 persons; they have 2-storey traditional Filipino Nipa Huts and Concrete air-conditioned rooms. We opted for the Nipa Hut because it’s more spacious and we don’t need air-conditioning in this place because of the cool breeze and the shade offered by the abundant trees all over the resort. The first floor is a traditional “silong” with tables, chairs, dirty kitchen and a grill, where you can cook, eat, and get drunk. The second floor is where the bedroom is, our Nipa hut have 2 double-deck beds and one “papag”. There is also a small Terrace where you can have a good view of the river and the lush greenery.
![]() |
The resort also have a large pavilion for different functions, this is also a fun place for your barkada to sing your favorite video-oke song for only 5pesos per song. If you didn’t bring enough food, drinks, or snacks they have a store, open only until 5PM.
Immediately after we arrive around 11PM, we cooked our food through the barbeque grill. Some of the “kubo” have this on the first floor, it would have been a great idea if we brought aluminum foil because the grill has rust on it! After lunch we all decided to take a swim, even if its noon time the water is so cold especially on the shallow pool. The cold water, the fresh air plus alcohol seems a good idea since you can’t really do nothing in this place but to eat, swim and get drunk.
Before sunset, they will fumigate the are to fend off mosquitoes and other insects that will feed on us while we’re sleeping. We stayed until 4am that night singing our lungs out, I think we’re the only overnight guest that day so they have no problem with the noise. The next day we ordered pancit for breakfast and take a final swim until we get back with our busy lives in Manila.

Bato spring is one of the best place to unwind, my family frequent the place coz the big rest house on your right before reaching Bato Springs owned by a family friend… so after drinking overnight sa resthouse, we make a dip in the morning sa resort pangtanggal ng hang over… its nice though you cannot find other stuffs that you are looking at a 5 star resort… pagpunta mo rito dapat dala mo na lahat… ice, uling, match, lighter, off lotion, band aid, basic medicines dahil may kalayuan siya for the town proper, and one thing more, this is a province, you cannot expect a 24 hour convenient store to cater your needs at any given hour, normally, sari sari store closes at 8pm… nagpuyat na sila noon para sa inyo….

We love bato springs. We always go there. Yun lang naman because the place is perfect. Very relaxing. Talagang nature siya.

Hi.. I’d been in Bato Spring long ago when I was still single. I accidentally saw ur site on the web and I got interested to go there again with my family this May. But upon reading all those comments by those who been there, there’s still some minor problems espcially with your CR, which let’s us say quite important kapag may outing. Just wanna inquire, the status of your CR now. Also, inquire ko how much ang OVERNIGHT CHARGE nyo for 2 person (me and my wife). Manggagaling pa kasi kami sa ALABANG kaya just wanna make sure na mag-eenjoy kami at makalayo sa mga problems dito sa city. Thanks in advance. Hoping for your immediate response to my inquiry. More power.
Jeff

Hi Rudolf, thank you for your comment. Honestly, we hadn’t encounter those CR concerns as we have our own private CR. So to answer your question, yes particularly Banahaw room. I contacted Ms. Elaine and forwarded these concerns, I hope she attend to it as soon as she can.
You can see the prices above but i’m not sure if it still accurate. It’s better to contact Ms. Elaine directly at 0495620976 or via SMS 09172445316 to secure your booking. Thank you.

This place sucks . People pee everywhere and there known river is not so good. I found several sticks of cigarette there just floatting there waiting to be cleaned . Another comment is the one rule in the river is not to eat bout around the place you will see banana peels and wrappers. If the owner tries to sue me they should remember that i have the freedom of speech.

Regarding the topic posted by Nicolo Antiporda, is that true? Coz we are heading there this coming week and all of sudden this topic comes up, behind the beautiful pictures displayed here and comments from your previous customers I think the administration should do something about this coz it can make your business image looks so bad for your future customers. Thank you

well all i can say with the place is, it was a nice place as in.. take note of the natural water, we never got itchy and didn’t take a bath before going home hahaha…but the down side was we went there not reserved in result to that, we need to transfer to a cottage because the room we have rented was already occupied the next day..and we had a little argument with the manager..

May 15th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
I’d been hearing about the comments so I decided to check them myself. The comments and suggestions of concerned customers are quite surprising. One customer we talked to even suggested an increase in the resort rates in order to limit the number of customers. Even more surprising is the rate the faucets, toilet flush, etc. need to be repaired, even in the ladies room.
Regarding the lost slippers, it is sad that stealing is now getting common in public places like a resort. There were some instances when the lifeguards, despite the hectic nature of their job, were able to catch the slipper bandits (who turned out to be another customer). But oftentimes, it is hard to tell whose slippers are whom. We hope that customers will do their share by taking extra care of their personal belongings.
We thank those who appreciate BATO SPRINGS. It’s also heartwarming to know that the resort has rekindled their love for nature. We never thought that the hidden jewel of San Pablo would be so exposed. We hope to continue improve the place for customers like ü.

Hi florianne, i’m not sure which specific buses to take but you can take Lucena bound buses, just tell them to drop you at the intersection bound to Dolores, Quezon. From there you can probably take a tricycle to Bato Springs. You can also get off San Pablo City proper and take a tricycle from there.

finally, nakapunta din ako dito. solong solo namin ang bato spring for 2 days kasi kami lang ang customer, it even came to the point na natatakot na kami dahil sobrang tahimik, mabundok, tapos walang tao. =) anyways, napakaganda nung place. nature na nature talaga. super lamig, ang sarap ng tubig. wala naman kami problem sa cr, kasi nagrent kami ng private room. ayun, ang ayoko lang ay yung nadulas ako dahil sa mga lumot. laughtrip tuloy. i’ll definitely go back here. =)

Well, we went there last Nov. 1, 2008. It was a different experienced. We like the place. The water falls is really relaxing. We enjoyed taking picture in every corner of the place. We wasnt able to check out their cottages cuz’ we just stayed for 2 hours since we had other places to visit in that area. We had fun and guess the two hours we spent travelling to that place is worth it.

hey.. nagpunta kami ng orgamates namin dito for our sem-ender.
comments:
2. madulas yung place gawa ng lumot (specially yung mga hagdan papunta sa swimming area).. ayun na aksidente and dalawa sa amin so we need to pack up early to go to the nearese hospital.
5. walang tubig yung swimming ppol
7. stray animals
hope pag balik namin (if ever babalik pa kami) nag improve na yung place

Don’t expect too much for what you have paid for. It is our responsibility to bring those things. Dun sa mga di mareklamo then GO! Lets just do our part na pag pumunta dun, tayo mismo dapat may disiplina sa kalinisan.

I’m having second thoughts after reading some VALID points from former Bato guests [e.g. dirty CRs, clogged bathroom drains, etc.]. However, yung ibang concerns ay invalid naman or not so important [depende na yun sa guest, like yung cellphone loads]. Well baka bumisita pa rin ako just to check it out… Ayaw ka pakinggan ng Bato management, wala ka magagawa if they want to remain that way [mediocre and low standard, that is].

WAY TO GO, PATRICK FLORES!!! Tama ka! I agree with you 200%. Maryosep, they can whine and give negative comments all they want but bottomline is if they are not that satisfied, then stop going to the resort. Naka, e ganun lang po kasimple iyun! At iyang DISIPLINA? BULL’S EYE for everybody that it should start from everyone! At long last, meron pa pala natitirang tao na organised, logical at coherent ang thoughts at manner of writing! Atenista ka malamang.

Is this resort private? Do you have hot springs? .. And do you have any “website” so that we can have a lot of informations about your resort?, because those informations listed above are not yet enough to convince us customers, that your resort is a perfect venue to unwind with nature ..
We need a lot of information and your website ..

Hello Ms Ellaine… I really miss your place… for more than 10 consecutive years, we’ve held our yearly company excursions here at Bato Springs… We’ve seen how you guys developed and grew… The first time I went there was year 1994. The huts were still very simple… the pools looked like enchanted because of its natural beauty… and as time passed… and each and every time we visited your place… we’re always amazed, my kids really love it… Well… this past year and this year, we may not be able to make it because of some matters like the priorities due to the growing needs of our families. But hopefully … I wish we could go back and spend a calming very relaxing night again… Good Luck and I’m wishing you the BIG BOOM…

Hi there!, m Wilson from Las Piñas and I’ve been there in Bato Resort last May 9, 2010 with my college friends who’s living in Dolores and she suggested to go there. I thought it was just an ordinary resort as I was thinking, but then when we got there that morning I was so amazed with the resort itself. That was so fantastic place to be if you want to have a peaceful day. A very safe place to swim, I thought it was a typical river, but i was amazed that it is already developed and having a floor which I thought first are soils under. We were really having a great time there, a very cold freshwater and a portion there where you can have a back massage from the falls above.
I suggested the resort for my team’s outing this Saturday (May 22, 2010). I would like to ask ms. Elaine if she can email me right now the rates or please can text me at 0919-4209250. It was just an urgent need, because we finalized to go there this Saturday. We just wanted to reserve maybe just a cottage for two where we can put our things and maybe a cottage also. But I prefer po sana yung Nipa type the cottage, na nasa ilalim yung table??? We’re about 20 persons this Saturday, from EXL Service Manila (a BPO Company).
And maybe I can suggest the resort to my company if ever we will be having our company outing.
Thanks so much and please response po sana ASAP.
Thanks…..

hey there!, sayang at fully booked na daw yung rooms for 2morow, pero 22loy pa din kami ng ofism8s ko. I just wanted to share them my experience at Bato Resort last May 9. Kaya sna may maabutan kaming kahit HUT bukas for our foods. overnyt kasi kami at ask ko din sana if may ilaw yung part sa may groto pag gabi kasi i’ll try to swim at nyt. Another thing is, I have read other comment on other site about Bato Resort, about the comment of “Unknown” na meron daw nagpaparamdam jan??? I’m a clairvoyant person and I can know if “SOMEONE” is watching us. Isa pa, sna dun sa nag-comment na yun about sa “UNKNOWN” thing na yun, which I think he’s speaking about ghost or other elements???. It’s just natural to a place like der dude, kasi tirahan nila yan and we are the strangers der kaya sana wag na lang tayo magalit if mgparamdam man cla kasi tayo ang “DAYO” jan…. I just hope they are goods, kasi di kya ng MATA ko ung mga 3rd degrees elements….
Sa management ng Bato Resort, please don’t get intimidated about such comments. Basta work for the best of your resort and take good care of your customer always, un ang secret to success nyo. Improve what the others are concern about and make them amaze on their next visit.
GOD Bless to Bato Spring Resort and to the management…..

nadissapoint naman ako sa overnighnt namen jan. muntik n kame di makapasok puno na daw buti n lng may nakita pa n unoccupied tent style n cottage. that was 9pm i think galing p kme sa manila tapos gnun lng. kung di pa nginsist dun sa caretaker ata un na icheck muna kung meron o wala n talaga di namen alam gagawen namen. kaya sa management sana bago kau mgdecide na wag magpapasok make sure 100% na wala n talaga not to mention that we already talked to ms. babes about our plan.
second, we are worried after knowing that the pavillion was rented by a barangay in TONDO (5 buses). may nagsuntukan pa nga sa pool eh mga lasing na talaga. may kasama p naman kmeng babae kaya natakot din cla.
mga 3am, may napancin kme na 2 babae from that pavillion na umaaliged sa tent namen, di namen alam n nakaidlip ung kasama namen n lalake, nakaon pa naman musicplayer ng cell nya baka kaya umaaligid samen, buti n lng naitago nya sa ilalim ng hinihigan nya.
morning na that we decided to swim in the bato location, i lol’ed at this actually, my officemates havaianas was stolen errr. lesson for us. i decided to go back to our tent that time, nakita ko pa mga sinelas namen pati ung havaianas cguro kung bumalik ako 5 mins. earlier nakita ko pa ung kumuha. well, mahirap n lng magbintang.
overall, im disappointed but had a lot of fun.

hi. me and my boyfriend are planning to go to bato springs. but we have a limited budget, so we’d like to know sana how much it would cost us to rent a cottage just for the two of us. hindi nman po kame magoovernight. would the fare be different kpag di overnight stay? ang nkalagay lang po kc yung pangovernight. chaka po pala, some of you might know kung san ang sskayan namen if magccommute kme from san pedro laguna, and how much it would cost us papunta and pabalik. it would be our first time kase na magccomute, though nakapunta na kme jan before. yun lang, we brought a car then. group kasi. so pano po ba mkapunta dun? i’ve read were supposed to ride a bus? if anybody knows how please comment back. or message me at my facebook account. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1631803798#!/profile.php?id=100000024390119 i’ll really appreciate it. thankyou!

Hi Jasmine,
I’m not 100% sure of this, but this should work for you. Bato Springs in near Dolores, Quezon and San Pablo, Laguna. If I’ll take a bus, i’ll probably take a bus bound to San Pablo, Laguna. You’ll have to do your own research on which bus lines go through this route. Buses bound to Bicol also pass by the road going to Bato Springs. From San Pablo laguna, you can probably rent out a tricycle or ask around how you’ll get there. They might charge you more but any amount less than 200 is reasonable enough. Or you can call Bato Springs directly and ask for better a better option.

Refund request
We drove to Batu Springs Resort yesterday April 13 afternoon(our plan was to have a swim and picnic during our short visit back to San Pablo from overseas to see our relatives)…just as soon as we got down from our cars – a huge fight developed between two groups of young men. They used large rocks and some people were badly hurt. We were scared for our safety and quickly went back into our cars and drove off. (the fight was all around us)
It was certainly quite scary to even witness this event.

I have been in this resort 3 times already. The last time was this April 2011. The place is still nice and clean. We never encountered any problems when we stayed there. I highly recommend the place this summer. Only one suggestion – need to go there early so that you could enjoy the place….wala pa masyado tao pag umaga…around 7-9 am…then mas ok pag overnight…

ALL IN ALL BADTRIP KAMI….
DI NAMIN IRERECOMMEND SA IBA TO, AT FOR SURE DI NA KAMI BABALIK DITO…. SA MGA PUPUNTA I-ENJOY nyo nalang yung lugar…hays…

We visited bato springs last April 30 overnight until May 1, 2011. It was my first time. I happen to be a nature loving person so I pretty much enjoyed the view. The water was extremely cold though. I was just able to take a couple of dips in the water and after that strolled along the resort. The room rates were pretty much affordable. The only problem were the beds/mattresses they provided. It was too thin for anybody to get a well rested sleep. Food was also a problem. The food there was very expensive. We had to go to the city to buy food ourselves. I know that there we’re comments regarding trash in the water but i never seen anything like that during my visit. Actually i saw personnel with long sticks with netting at the tip who picked up fallen leaves in the water. All in all I rate this place at 7/10. (7 being the nature lover that I am)

I and my family and friends just had the worst weekend of my life last Saturday and Sunday. And it was my most embarassing day too!
The reviews are soooo misleading.
I don’t understand why people patronize it and had everything good to say about this resort when in fact, it is still a resort with the dirtiest, most ill-maintained cottages and the most fly infested surroundings. To think that they earn a lot from the P125/px entance fee, P400 mushroom sized ugly cottages and P1,500 non aircon rooms w/o balkents, towels and toilet papers, with dirty Jack and Jill bathrooms with destroyed locks and faucets, and w/o heater.
Aside from the addition of new poorly constructed cottages and cheap bathrooms and a man-made pool, its still the same as when we last visited 15yrs ago and vowed never to come back because of the swarming flies with their eggs deposited on our tables and foods and with their dirty cottages. May nadala pa kami na pagkain sa bahay na may mga itlog ng langaw.I am not exagerating.God knows I speak the truth because I care for the health of the public. I shudder now when I remember the filth.
I regret that I again encouraged my friends to have our bonding there after 15 years last weekend when I read the comments of guests on how nice the place is already. I became excited once again to see what efforts the management did to please their customers. After this harrowing weekend, I conclude that they are just after the money of the customers. Pagnagalit ang Diyos sa kanila for not giving back to the customers the good service and clean surroundings they deserve, baka bawiin ng Diyos ang biyaya ng napakagandang tanawin and endless supply of spring water that He blessed them with.
Attention Dept of Health and Sanitary Inspector of San Pablo. Pls do your job and inspect the place. The flies are danger to the health of the public. Everyone can easily get typhoid fever in that place. The management claims that they do regular defogging. But obviously, its not effective. They should upgrade and decontaminate the place or shut down until they do.
Even Ms. Elaine assured me there are no more swarms of flies and smell of chicken pooh all around which we experienced before when I asked her as I was reserving rooms for the weekend. So I took her word that she answered me honestly.Mayruon pa rin naman pala.
