Badjao Seafront Restaurant a popular place to dine in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. In our stay in Palawan we all agreed that it was the best dining experience we had during the trip. After checking-in and a brief freshening, we were all hungry but no idea where to have our lunch. Our guide, Kuya Pepito was already waiting for us and highly recommended Badjao, true enough – we were not disappointed!

The restaurant is built on top of a mangrove habitat, features a nice view of the sea with its large open windows. It is located along Rizal Avenue, about 15 minutes away from our hotel. If you plan to dine here it better if you tell the tricycle to wait for you since its out of the way. The restaurant is adorned with colorful textiles which reminded me of Vintas in the South. We spent our time site seeing while waiting for our food, I was amazed when I saw someone in a kayak picking up garbage from the water – an indication that the locals truly value their natural resources.
While the scenery is good, it was food that we came for here. We ordered their Seafood platter, Sinigang na Hipon, fresh fruit juices and Buko. Badjao Seafront Restaurant is known for its fresh seafood dishes. Since Edz’s parents love to cook, they tasted each dish trying to analyze how its has been cooked and their ingredients. It’s different on how we usually cook food at home, but it absolutely satisfied our taste buds.
After emptying our dishes, the chef approached us to ask how do we find the food. Without hesitation Edz’s Dad said it’s delicious and asked few questions on how it was prepared. The prices are not that expensive, if I recall it correctly we paid no more than 2000 pesos for everything.

Although the restaurant doesn’t really offer much different for us, the good food, ambiance and the view are absolutely worth your try.
