For the past couple of years, Cubao has undergone a lot of major changes. It was not long ago when I had to commute everyday, during those times Cubao is the most stressful place I had to go through every school day. Now there are better malls and improved transportation (LRT2). On one side of Cubao is Marikina Shoe Expo, a place filled with creativity and nostalgia. Its where some of the big names in shoe business has been founded, aside from that it is now occupied by antique stores, art galleries, and restaurants. One of these restaurants is Bellini’s authentic Italian Restaurant Read the rest of this entry »

Truly a home away from home. Tucked in the heart of Laguna, Casa San Pablo is where artistry, creativity and family ideals gather. The experience was similar to a grand vacation in your hometown where you meet all your relatives. This time it was Mr. Boots Alcantara’s family. It was like going home after having lunch out at Kusina Salud.

After checking with Ms. Nina Tesoro if they serve breakfast at Kusina Salud I instantly reserved for our group as we plan to start Viaje del Sol at Kusina ni Salud. They offer Filipino breakfast as early as 9:30 in the morning.
Patis Tesoro, a renowned designer and advocate of endemic fabrics like piña, banana and abaca cloth has open their doors to enchanting casual laid back ambiance of a country home. Coddle with Jeff’s photos that showcase her collection of eclectic and rustic charm.

I had a chance to join my new team on a team-building event last week at Mango Camp Adventure and Leisure Farm in Zambales. It was two days of tiring yet fun-filled activities all within the confines of the 1,500sqm campsite, set against the mountain ranges of Mt. Pinatubo. This recreational site has been featured a couple of times on different TV shows like ABS-CBN’s Trip na Trip, GMA’s Kay Susan Tayo, Lovely Day and another travel show on Studio 23. After our misfortune in Quezon Island, the boat man offered to take us to the Governor’s Island the following day to save his face. Of the 3 islands only Governor’s Island has a guest house which is commissioned by ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother Teen edition. The guest house has 2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, comfort room/bath and kitchen. Cooking utensils and electric appliances are also offered which are powered by a generator set. One overnight stay on the “Bahay ni Kuya” would cost 10,000pesos; kind of on the expensive side but a small price to pay if you want to be a housemate for a day

Our first stop during our island hopping tour was in Quezon Island, named after the late President Manuel Quezon. He proclaimed that the area will be the first National Park in the Philippines on Jan. 18, 1940, because of this the biggest island is named after him. If you haven’t read the first part of this post, you can view it here.

Hundred Islands, one of the natural wonders that we Filipinos can be truly proud of, a place that I’ve only seen on post cards since I was a kid…a part of my grade school history homework-”magagandang tanawin” until I have personally encountered its averred wonder.

We have set a mood to treat ourselves after a hectic week and settle to a take a perfect sip of coffee-this time a complete trial of an exceptionally different nip. Tempted with a bulk of people lining up inside the store while cars wait for a space along the road on a friday night. We checked out Kopi Roti in Blue Ridge Ave. Katipunan for the first time. We noticed that they have a wonderful ambiance and a place for perfect kopi set for less than Php100.
KopiRoti’s value proposition to its clients is fantastic taste, shared memories, and a unique dining experience – all at a reasonable cost.
KopiRoti’s product selection is small but adequate for our target customers. The emphasis is on delivering a range of products that has unequalled quality, consistency in manufacturing, unparalleled taste, and adequate in selection to satisfy our most demanding customers.
