After checking with Ms. Nina Tesoro if they serve breakfast at Kusina Salud I instantly reserved for our group as we plan to start Viaje del Sol at Kusina ni Salud. They offer Filipino breakfast as early as 9:30 in the morning.
Patis Tesoro, a renowned designer and advocate of endemic fabrics like piña, banana and abaca cloth has open their doors to enchanting casual laid back ambiance of a country home. Coddle with Jeff’s photos that showcase her collection of eclectic and rustic charm.
A Balanese, Bohemia and Filipino historical house rolled into a home turned out to be Kusina Salud. Relax and enjoy cool breeze and sound of a rolling brook enwrapped by Banahaw ferns and huge vines in their lush garden.
More of the enchanting ambiance is a unique preparation of modern Filipino cuisine headed by Chef Paul Poblador and his gifted team. Kusina Salud is not introducing new Filipino foods but reintroducing the classics by its contemporary taste. So, it’s the food that we all grew up being prepared to us in our meals but a lot better.
Kusina has a separate breakfast and merienda menu, so that equally means we’ll be missing the lunch menu and merienda menu. Expect market fresh ingredients everyday, a guarantee that all ingredients are fresh as everything is cooked from the fish farm, garden and meat market. You may request for some dishes that can be cooked with the highly-priced carabao meat which is considered as the traditional beef of Laguna. However, you may opt to order ice cream, leche flan or kesong puti where carabao’s milk is also used.
During breakfast silogs are the favorite- kalabawsilog, longganisang hamonado-silog, the adobo or kesong puti sandwich, and some spring rolls. The hot chocolate drink from ground tablea makes a perfect match to their breads or enseymada. Our group ordered a variety to taste them all. Freshly brewed pandan and lemongrass iced teas are our true favorites while as per Jeff it was Kusina’s boiled coffee.
Kusina adjusts its menu a couple of times in a year to match in a particular season or celebration. This summer as this will be “hot months” Kusina clings to light and fast cooking dishes like their famous ensaladang pako, grilled meats and tasty seafoods. Watch out for the desserts list as a lot of fresh fruits will be offered yummy fruit salads, dalanghita sorbet and mango turon to name a few.
Having a delectable Filipino food feast at Kusina Salud makes a superb start to Viaje del Sol you shouldn’t miss. A prime Filipino fashion dining experience only Kusina Salud can offer.
Approximately 83 kilometers from Exit 50 (Lucena/Batangas) on the South Luzon Expressway, Kusina Salud is located in Brgy. Sta. Cruz Putol in San Pablo, Laguna.

Hi! Thanks for the very informative post.:) May I ask if reservations are necessary to be able to dine here? Are walk-in guests accommodated as well?
Thanks in advance.
