Banapple is one of the hottest restaurant in the Katipunan area, creating a buzz with their great food and desserts. I’ve heard nothing but good adjectives to describe their food from friends and office mates, so we decided to check it out. The tiny restaurant can hold approximately up to around 20 persons and 4 cars can park in front. Due to the popularity and the size of the place it is often unavoidable to wait to be seated and leave your car along Katipunan Ave., specially during dinner time.
Banapple is a friendly bakery cafe that serves freshly-baked pies, cheesecakes and desserts, as well as good food and coffee.
Banapple got its name from their two best sellers Banoffi Pie, and Apple Caramel Crumble. Since the restaurant is small, you get this warm and close feel its like you’re in a party you see everyone get together and share great food.

You’re mouth will surely water as you take a look on their cake and pie selections.
Once seated, you have to order your food in the counter ala fast food and minutes later your food will be served.
We’re not too much into sweets and its dinner time so we chose their rice meals instead.
Pan-fried Porkloin with Herb Mushroom Gravy – (145php) juicy pork loin steak seasoned with special herbs, pan-fried in olive oil, and smothered in a thick mushroom and herb gravy; served with glazed carrots.
Salpicao Rafael (my personal favorite) – (150php) tender cubes of rib-eye steak and sliced mushrooms, perfectly seasoned and smothered in garlic pieces and special brown sauce; served with buttered carrots.
Of course their famous Banoffee Pie – from the words “banana” and “toffee“, its a great dessert but its too sweet for my taste.
I was surprised that this little place offer such a wide variety of food to choose from, they offer pastas, sandwiches, entrees, savory pies, pancakes, pies and cheesecakes. They also serve coffee and smoothies!
It is surely be one of those places that will come to mind when I’m around the area with an empty stomach
.

The Banoffee pie looked different than what I imagined it to be. I love the chocolate shavings on top!

I really went out of my way to try this… I bought cake slices for take out and I uber loved Banoffee Pie, Honeylovin’ Crunch Cake and Myster-Reese’s Wicked Pie– heavenly!!
The Fudgymudgymud Pie was too sweet though (hard to finish a slice) and the muffin was dry. Will definitely go back to try more cakes and the meals as well.
Hope they open up a branch in Makati or Fort area, please??

@Jeff: I really would love to try their meals. It’s too far lang kasi so I get a chance to dropby lang if we go somewhere near the area which is very seldom naman.
